Skin Industries, the leading sports fashion company does it again by designing and fabricating custom rashguards for youth amateur fighter Rion Almeida.
Rion has been working with the Skin Industries artist to design custom logos, in order to start developing his personal branding as he moves up in the amateur ranks to becoming a professional fighter.
Together with Rion’s logos and those of his sponsors: Skin Industries, 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, Fight Dentist, Datsusara, and Team Acme, pictured is the rashguard that they custom made just for him to train and compete in.

I met Tyler Ransom at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu HQ on spring break, he is a 11 year old boy with a kidney disease called Nephrotic Syndrome.
He was a great training partner and a tough kid, together we learned Jiu Jitsu and I also learned a little about what he is going through and how he is trying to increase public awareness about his disease.
The cool thing is he loves Jiu Jitsu just like I do and he doesn’t let his illness get in the way of his training, actually he uses it for two purposes, one as a kind of therapy and the other as a way to teach others about his disease.

Skin Industries astounds Rion with a sponsorship deal that is “out of this world.”
His very first day at Skin Industries was filled with hanging with the CEO Al Borda, meeting everyone at Skin Industries, touring the warehouse, getting dressed from head to toe in product (enough swag that he can wear skin everyday), and even a professional photo shoot.
Then shortly thereafter Rion was reading Tapout magazine and was completely blown away again when he sees a full page ad of himself wearing Skin clothes with his MMA gloves on, which was a picture from the first days photo shoot.

Datsusara has offered Rion Almeida product support for 2012 and he is so excited to be using Datsusara gear.
Rion would like to thank Chris Odell from Datsusara for believing in him and providing him with much needed support.
He really appreciates it and knows that not many MMA companies want to sponsor kids because they can’t even compete in real MMA fights until they are an adult.

NO GI Luta Livre Team RFT Brazil Wins State Jiu Jitsu Championship Title
The long sought after GI vs NO GI question was answered at a Jiu Jitsu tournament in Brazil.
On Sept 18 2011 Marico Chrome was invited to bring his Luta Livre No GI Team RFT Brazil to compete in the State Championship of No Gi Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Sport Jiu-Jitsu of Rio de Janeiro.
Marcio’s NO GI Luta Livre Team RFT did not disappoint. He entered 30 athletes and all of them made the podium with 13 of them receiving the gold medal.
The Team as a whole earned 97 points which made them the champions and was 30 points ahead of second place Gordos Jiu Jitsu, a traditional GI Jiu Jitsu team.
